Beijing, China — Journalists from more than 50 countries gathered at the Communication University of China (CUC) for the Global Journalists Salon, held in observance of the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations. The forum focused on the media’s role in promoting understanding, cooperation, and peace in an increasingly interconnected world.

In his address, CUC Vice President Ren Mengshan emphasized that dialogue among civilizations is essential in addressing global challenges such as climate change, artificial intelligence governance, public health, and geopolitical tensions. He described the media as a powerful bridge connecting nations, cultures, and people through accurate and responsible storytelling.

Ren called on journalists to foster mutual respect and understanding among diverse cultures, encourage constructive dialogue on shared challenges, and uphold professional ethics in an age of information overload and misinformation. He noted that the media has a responsibility not only to report events but also to help build consensus and strengthen international cooperation.
