Elijah Wachira takes over as new NHIF boss

Elijah Wachira has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

He takes over from Dr. Peter Kamunyo whose 3 year term ended in March this year (2023).

In a statement, the Board of NHIF announced the appointment of the CEO and six directors following a competitive recruitment process which commenced with an advertisement in the print and digital media on 27th June 2023.

Hazel Koitaba will serve as the Director Beneficiary and Provider Management,  Ibrahim Mohamed Alio as the Director Corporate services while Pariken Ole Sankei is the new Director Internal Audit.

Others are Catherine Mungania who has been appointed as the Corporation Secretary/ Director Legal services, Robert Ingasira Director Financial services and Martin Ayoo will serve as Director Information & Communication Technology.

According to the Board, the new management team brings onboard wealth of experience that will contribute to the transition of the Fund into its successor.
