Days after Spotify announced its new Global Music Video charts, Nigerian Grammy Award-winning musician Burna Boy has topped the charts with the 2026 World Cup song “Dai Dai” performed alongside Shakira.

The news comes after the song topped the Top 200 Billboard chart with 43 million streams (up 4% week over week) and 5,000 sold (down 5%) worldwide July 10-16, according to Luminate.

The new feature launched on Tuesday by ranking the 50 most-watched videos on the platform each day, where “Dai Dai” emerged at the top.

The new milestone means that the “Time Flies” singer has made history as the first African musician to top the charts, and as the first male artist to do so.

“Dai Dai”, released in May, is the “Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Song in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million by the end of the tournament to provide children around the world with access to quality education and football opportunities”.
