DCP leaders blocked from holding rally in Kigumo

Tear gas canisters were lobbed and gunshots fired to disperse a crowd that was gathering for a meeting with the leaders.

There was tension in Kigumo Constituency, Murang’a County, after police officers blocked a section of leaders allied to the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) from holding a rally in the area.

The leaders had earlier attended Sunday service at AIPCA Christ the King Church in Kahuro area, where they faulted the government for reducing the schools’ capitation

Tear gas canisters were lobbed and gunshots fired to disperse a crowd that was gathering for a meeting with the leaders.

The party leader, Rigathi Gachagua, who is in the US, condemned the incident and called for the immediate arrest and arraignment of the alleged goons and police officers.
