Defending champions Senegal, the Lions of Teranga, will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a West African derby today on day 4 of the 8th CHAN finals as the action moves to Zanzibar.
The two football powerhouses will face off in the 8pm kickoff, with Nigeria having an edge with 3 wins from the previous 7 encounters against Senegal’s 1 win in normal time, whereas three matches have ended in stalemate.
Senegal lifted the trophy for the 1st time in 2022 after winning on post-match penalties against hosts Algeria.
Nigeria, which had a managerial change barely less than a month before the CHAN kickoff, is still in the hunt for their 1st trophy since the tournament was launched in 2009.
In the 1st group D opener, Congo-Red Devils will tackle The Nile Crocodiles of Sudan in the 5pm kick-off.
