Government has postponed the NYOTA national verification exercise scheduled for Friday, 17th October 2025, across the 290 Constituencies.
The exercise which was expected to draw the participation of the Principal Secretaries, elected leaders, and the National Government Administration Officers under the Whole -of – Government Approach has been deferred to a later date.
In a statement, the Principal Secretary Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Susan Mang’eni noted that the decision was made following the demise of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who passed on earlier Wednesday in line with the Presidential Proclamation by President William Ruto announcing a national mourning period until the internment of Raila.
“The State Department for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development wishes to inform the public, all Principal Secretaries, elected leaders, all applicants of the NYOTA project and other stakeholders, that the national verification exercise scheduled for Friday, 17th October 2025, across the 290 Constituencies, has been postponed.” Noted PS Mang’eni.
“This decision follows the untimely passing of the Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, the Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, earlier today, and the Presidential Proclamation issued by President William Ruto, announcing a period of national mourning from today until sunset on the day of the late leader’s interment.”
The PS says, the new dates for the verification exercise will be communicated in due course even as she mourned the late Odinga ‘as a a great statesman and patriot’ who dedicated his life to the service, peace, unity, and progress of Kenya.
