KBC Channel 1 TV will host a live broadcast of the recently unveiled CAF TotalEnergies African Nations Championship trophy on Monday, August 25, from 7:30 a.m.
Renowned Kenyan football player Victor Wanyama will lead the CHAN trophy Kenyan tour to KBC TV.
Combining silver and gold components, the new TotalEnergies CHAN 2024 trophy has a sleek, modern form that reflects the tournament’s increasing prominence and reputation.
The 54 different lines surrounding the trophy, representing the 54 African nations united with a map of the continent at its centre.
Besides the coveted trophy, winners of this year’s CHAN will be rewarded Ksh 455 million, while the runners-up will walk away with Ksh 156 million and Ksh 91 million for the bronze medalist.
The fourth-placed team will be rewarded Ksh 78 million, as each quarter-finalist among them, the three hosts – Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania – bags Ksh 58 million each.
The trophy is being shown on state broadcasts in all three host nations as part of its legacy.
