The national U20 men’s soccer team, Rising Stars is rearing to go ahead of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Kenyan team eyeing a memorable debut arrived in Cairo Egypt today ahead of the continental tournament scheduled April 27th-May 18th.
Kenya will open its group B campaign against Morocco on May 1st before facing Tunisia three days later then wind up the pool fixtures against Nigeria on May 7th.
Rising Stars head coach Salim Babu has travelled with a 26-man squad which he will be banking on to produce results.
The squad includes goalkeepers: Kevin Oduor and Bernard Jairo while the defence unit consists of Amos Wanjala,Baron Ochieng,Manzur Okwaro and Telena Ochieng.
The midfield has Aldrin Kibet,Kevin Wangaya and Humphrey Aroko.
The trio of Lawrence Ouma, Oliver Machaka and Mark Shaban are charged with the striking role.
The top two teams from each pool, along with the two best third-placed teams, will progress to the quarter-finals, the four semi-finalists will earn tickets to represent Africa at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
