KBC MD, Kalekye, appointed to the National Football Investment Technical Committee

The committee has convened its first meeting on the 5th of next month, where it will initiate plans to maximise Kenya's football potential through corporate partnerships.

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Managing Director Agnes Kalekye has been appointed to the National Football Investment Technical Committee (NFITC) by the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Salim Mvurya.

The committee formed on 3rd September this year by President William Ruto is mandated to strengthen corporate participation in support of government efforts to promote football in Kenya.

The NFITC will be overseen by the Football Investments Oversight Committee and is mandated to:

1. Identify and prioritise football programmes and activities eligible for corporate funding support.

2. Develop fundraising and resource mobilisation plans targeting corporate sectors, development partners, and government entities to close funding gaps.

3. Develop and implement sponsorship frameworks, packages, and pricing structures tailored to various corporate sectors and aligned with global and national standards.

4. Lead marketing, brand activation, and innovative engagement initiatives to enhance sponsor visibility and fan participation.

5. Package and reposition FKF leagues and intellectual property to increase marketability, including proposals for broadcasting, digital platforms, match-day experiences, and merchandise.

6. Monitor programme performance through established KPIs, evaluate outcomes, and provide regular progress reports to the Oversight Committee.

7. Conduct sponsorship negotiations, contract compliance monitoring, and safeguarding of commercial rights.

8. Any other function the committee may deem necessary in the promotion of football programmes and investments in Kenya.
