Kenya airforce training aircraft involved in emergency in Kwale

The Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has confirmed that a Kenya Airforce Grob 120A aircraft experienced an emergency Saturday, June 14, 2025, during a training flight in the vicinity of Mwakijembe Primary School, Ndavaya, Kwale County.

In a statement the KDF noted that the aircraft had two pilots on board at the time of the incident.

The KDF has also confirmed that recovery operation is currently underway.

“Earlier today, 14th June 2025, a Kenya Airforce Grob 120A aircraft experienced an emergency while on a training flight in the general area of Mwakijembe Primary School, Ndavaya, Kwale County. On Board were two pilots. Recovery is ongoing.”

Details regarding the cause of the emergency or the condition of the crew have not yet been released, as investigations and response efforts continue.
