Kenyan content creators have made their mark on the continental stage after several were named among the nominees for the 2025 TikTok Awards Sub-Saharan Africa.
The awards, which celebrate creativity, influence, and impact across the platform, will take place on December 6, 2025, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Kenyan Nominees
Among this year’s Kenyan nominees is Clem, known on TikTok as @englishwithclem, who has been recognized in two categories, Creator of the Year and Education Creator of the Year. Clem has built a loyal following by simplifying English language lessons and creating accessible educational content for audiences across Africa.
Also nominated in the Education Creator of the Year category is Roy Kanyi (@roy.kanyi), whose short-form videos focus on technology education and innovation. Kanyi has been lauded for making tech knowledge approachable and engaging for everyday viewers.
In the Social Impact Creator of the Year category, Kenya is represented by Valerie Keter (@valerie_keter) and Anita Soina (@anitasoina). Both are known for using the platform to drive awareness around social and environmental causes. Keter has built her content around community empowerment and advocacy for women, while Soina, an environmentalist and politician, continues to use social media to amplify conversations on climate action and youth participation.
The Rising Star of the Year category features Tunero Animations (@tunero_animations), a Nairobi-based digital artist celebrated for creative animations and humorous sketches inspired by everyday Kenyan life. His growing popularity has earned him recognition as one of the emerging voices in digital storytelling.
Kenya also boasts strong representation in sports content, with BoxToBox Regista (@boxtoboxregista) and Zoza Sports Cast (@zozasportscast) both earning nominations in the Sports Creator of the Year category. The duo has become known for their lively football commentary and in-depth analysis that connects with sports fans across the continent.
Winners will be announced during the award ceremony in Johannesburg.
