Ministry of Health rallies counties to fast-track Universal Health Coverage

The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to working with county governments to speed up the delivery of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

During a visit to Uasin Gishu County, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale led discussions focused on strengthening primary health care, enhancing preventive services, and ensuring sustainable health financing through the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

The CS also flagged off a consignment of essential medicines to boost service delivery in county health facilities, saying the move aims to ensure continuous availability of key medical supplies.

The Ministry further commended Uasin Gishu County’s commendable strides in improving access to healthcare through infrastructure upgrades, investment in medical equipment, and impactful community health outreach.

Duale was accompanied by Public Health PS Mary Muthoni, among other government officials.
