Nairobi City Thunder will be hoping to register their first win in the ongoing Basketball Africa League Nile Conference qualifiers when they take on Made By Basketball,MBB, scheduled Tuesday in Kigali,Rwanda.

The fixture a third one for the two sides is set to tip off at 4pm East Africa Time. Both teams are enduring a rough start to the competition after losing their opening two matches.Thunder lost to APR and Al Ahli Tripoli.

Thunder head coach Bradley Ibs reckoned that his side must put up an improved performance so as to revive their hopes of advancing to the play off finals scheduled next month in Pretoria,South Africa.

“Obviously as you have seen over the two days, our consistency hasn’t been where we would like it to be. We just have to be consistent, play every possession to our Thunder standards and hope that will help to turn things around,” Ibs said.

Against Al Ahli Tripoli Thunder had a bright start in the opening quarter but narrowly lost 18-24.A well drilled Al Ahli Tripoli won the second and third periods 29-20 and 28-15 and despite Thunder fighting back in the fourth and final period which ended 34-34 their efforts appeared  to be too little too late as Al Ahli from Libya clinched their second consecutive win in Kigali.

Uchena Iroegbu was the top marksman for Thunder after scoring a total of 18 points while Eugene Adera and Tylor Ongwae contributed 14 and 10 points each respectively.

After the MBB clash Thunder will also play Al Ahli on Thursday,MBB on Saturday before winding up their round robbin fixtures against APR on Sunday.

Each team will play each other twice with the top two at the conclusion of the round robbin matches qualifying for the 12 team BAL finals scheduled for Pretoria,South Africa in June.
