Tourism stakeholders in Narok County have pledged to protect the Maasai Mara ecosystem for the current and future generations.

The Mara Managers Association (MMA) members during their first Annual General Meeting (AGM) said the move would strengthen efforts to conserve the Mara ecosystem which is facing a huge environmental degradation.

“The MMA’s vision is to ensure the sustainable management of this vital area for the benefit of both current and future generations, while advocating for responsible tourism practices and fostering community involvement.”

During the meeting in Talek, Chairman Fairman Muhingi emphasized the association’s dedication to safeguarding the Masai Mara ecosystem and fostering community involvement.

The Mara Managers Association (MMA), established in 2016 and re-launched after the devastating floods in 2024, brings together a collective of professional camp managers with a shared commitment to enhancing the region’s tourism sector, empowering local communities, and promoting wildlife and environmental conservation.
