Principal Secretary for the State Department for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Idris Dokota has been recognised for his exemplary leadership in driving digital transformation within Kenya’s public service.

PS Dokota received the Visionary Leadership in Public Sector Transformation Award during the 6th Africa Public Sector Conference & Awards (APSCA 2025) held in Cape Town, South Africa.

The State Department for Cabinet Affairs also bagged the Digital Transformation of the Year Award, recognising its role in modernising government operations through technology and innovation.

The awards highlighted the success of the Cabinet Memorandum Development System (Cab Memo System), a digital platform introduced under PS Dokota’s leadership to streamline Cabinet decision-making and enhance accountability.

The system transforms the way Cabinet decisions are prepared, reviewed, and implemented, ensuring that government actions are timely, informed, and accountable.

PS Dokota said the recognition reflected the collective effort of his team and the wider public service in embracing innovation to improve service delivery.

“This recognition is both humbling and inspiring. It reflects the collective effort of a dedicated team within the State Department for Cabinet Affairs and the wider Kenyan public service, who continue to push the boundaries of innovation and excellence,” said PS Dokota.
