Royal Air Maroc announces discounted airfares in a bid to woo fans from Africa to attend AFCON

In a bid aimed at wooing more fans from across Africa to attend matches at the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations, slated for the 21st of next month till the 19th of January next year, Royal Air Morocco, the official airline in Morocco, has announced discounted rates for travelling from December.

The discounted airfare targets fans from 13 cities from 12 African cities and is aimed at making it easier and more affordable for football fans across Africa to attend the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The airline says the initiative is part of its commitment to ensuring that as many supporters as possible experience the excitement of AFCON 2025 live in Morocco’s world-class stadiums.

Morocco is hosting the finals for the first time in 37 years and will also be in the hunt for their 2nd title after 49 years.

The new rates will see fans travelling  from Abidjan ,Ivory Coast pay Ksh 68,000 for a round trip  Ksh 76,500 for those from Dakar, Senegal while those from Angola’s capital Luanda will be charged Ksh 163,500.

Those travelling from Ouagadougou,Burkina Faso will pay  Ksh 81,600,as those from Lagos,Nigeria will part  with Ksh  110,500, for a round trip air ticket.

For the first time in the history of the biennial football tournament, purchasing of tickets for fans will strictly be through an app known as the Yalla App, with all ticket holders being exempted from pre-travelling visas.
