At least seven people have been killed and more than 120 houses torched following violent inter-community clashes in Transmara South, Rift Valley region.
The three-week unrest has affected the Ongata Barikoi and Lolgorian areas, leaving over 260 families displaced.
Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Aldi Hassan confirmed the incident, describing the situation as grave and warning that the government will deal firmly with anyone fueling the violence.
Police have so far arrested two suspects believed to be behind the incitement, while a manhunt has been launched for at least 20 others who remain at large.
Hassan also announced an operation targeting illegal firearms in the region, urging residents to surrender any unlawful weapons voluntarily.
Hundreds of affected residents have fled to nearby schools for safety as tensions remain high.
The clashes are reportedly linked to a long-standing land dispute and have resulted in the destruction of property worth millions of shillings.
