Kenyan Electronic Dance Music musician Sofiya Nzau will perform at the Kunye event scheduled for February 28 at Uhuru Gardens.
Kunye, a isiXhosa term meaning “together, is a music event that brings together upcoming producers and musicians, founded by South African producer Shimza. Kunye will host the event in partnership with Gondwana Ke, a Kenyan afro-house outfit.
Following her history-making appearance at Tomorrowland in 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious electronic music festivals, Nzau is expected to bring her high-octane vibe to her home country.
Nzau became a global star following the success of her song “Mwaki”, which has amassed over 380,000 streams to date.
In addition to live performances, Sofiya has been working behind the scenes with some of Europe’s top electronic producers and songwriters, including Arjen Thonen, Sergio Popken, and Tommy Deckers.
Nzau will perform alongside South Africa’s Shimza, Maphorisa, Sun-El Musician, Darque, Mila-Rose, Stofella, America’s Ape Drums, Kenyan DJ Euggy and Suraj and Santa.
