Starlets set to face Ivory Coast in international friendly

The national women’s soccer team,Harambee Starlets is set to face hosts Ivory Coast in their first of the back to back international tonight  in Abidjan.The match is set to kick off at 10pm.

The second encounter is set to be played four days later.

Head coach Beldine Odemba named  23-member travelling squad that includes regulars Mwanahalima Adam,Corazone Aquino,Gentrix Shikangwa,goalkeepers Lilian Awuor and Annedy Kundu and defender Janet Mumo.

Odemba has recalled Ann Norah,Vivian Nasaka,Lucy Kwekwe and Faith Mboya. Nasaka, who was initially called up for the Tunisia clash, missed out due to an injury sustained at her Turkish club, Hakkarigucuspor.

Meanwhile, Mboya, who didn’t make the final squad in Tunisia, is in line for her first cap.

However, Harambee Starlets will be without  captain, Dorcas Shikobe, who suffered an injury while playing for her Greek club, Sirines of Grevena.

The Team will use the friendly to prepare for the forthcoming 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers against Gambia in October.
