Tanzania’s national team are in the final stages of their preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 with an intensive training camp in Ismailia, Egypt.
Taifa Stars are this year’s CHAN co-hosts alongside Uganda and Kenya and have been in North Africa for four days as they fine-tune their squad ahead of their 3rd appearance at the tournament.
Tanzania has been drawn in a competitive Group B that includes Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Mauritania, and the Central African Republic.
As they train, their major focus is to achieve a positive result in their opening match against the Stallions of Burkina Faso on the 2nd of next month at the newly refurbished Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
Tanzania’s two prior CHAN appearances, in 2019 and 2020, have not seen them advance past the group rounds.
Nonetheless, they are hopeful of creating history by making it to the knockout stages for the first time with the support of home fans and a powerful build-up.
