Members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Thika Chapter, on Friday afternoon lit candles at the parking bay of the Thika Law Courts in memory of their slain colleague, Advocate Kyalo Mbobu, who was shot dead in Nairobi early this week.

Led by the branch chair, Wanjiru Mwangi, the lawyers urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to expedite investigations and ensure those behind the brutal killing are brought to justice.

Mwangi stressed that the legal fraternity would not be intimidated by acts of violence, vowing that such threats would only strengthen their resolve to continue serving the cause of justice.

She emphasized that attacks on lawyers undermine the rule of law and should not be tolerated in a country that upholds constitutionalism.

Collins Wanderi, one of his former students, remembered him as a meticulous tutor who demanded the best from his learners while offering unwavering mentorship and support.

“He was always available for his students, nurturing many of us into successful legal practitioners,” Wanderi said, adding that Mbobu’s legacy in the legal profession would live on through those he mentored.
