Co-hosts Uganda have unveiled their final 25-man squad for the 8th African Nations Championship set to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania starting this Saturday, 2nd August.
The Uganda Cranes, which is currently training at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi, is targeting to break the jinx of group stage exit in their previous six appearances.
“We are set and ready for the tournament. The selected players are in perfect shape to make sure we perform well and achieve our prime target of going beyond the group stage.” Morely Byekwaso, Uganda’s co-coach, said.
Allan Okello will be the team captain, deputised by Joel Mutakubwa and Rogers Torach.
Uganda will get their group C campaign underway next Monday against Algeria before facing Niger, Guinea, and South Africa.
