2024 AWCON: CAF partners with AGL to promote inclusivity

Confederation of Africa Football,CAF has partnered with Africa Global Logistics,a logistics company on the continent,a collaboration that seeks to amplify the efforts for economic and social inclusion especially among women in Africa.

The agreement signed at the beginning of the ongoing Africa Women’s Cup of Nations,AWCON in Morocco leverages on the championship to spread its core message wrapped in the slogan ‘Moving Africa Forward’’.

A communique from AGL stated: ” Moving Africa Forward  is AGL’s official slogan for the two football competitions being held in Morocco  this year: the 2024 AWCON and the 2025 AFCON.It embodies  AGL’s commitment to supporting African football and more broadly, contributing to the transformation of the  continent.  AGL is convinced that football, like logistics, is a powerful lever for economic, social and inclusion  development throughout Africa. Both connect people, create opportunities and support local economies’’.

The promotion for inclusivity mirrored the company’s inclusion of women in running of its affairs saying that 20% of its employees and  25% of its managers were women,according them a chance to flourish.

This is our way of saying that the future of the continent will be built with women, in all  areas: on the ground as well as in business. Supporting the Women’s AFCON is also an opportunity to  celebrate African women and invest in a more inclusive, equitable and forward-looking Africa. ” says Khadija  Komara, Director of Communications and Sponsorship at AGL.

AGL was announced as the official logistics partner for the upcoming CAF tournaments, including the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 and the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026.

This partnership builds on their successful collaboration from the previous AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.

Meanwhile hosts Morocco defeated Ghana 4-2 via post match penalties in the semi finals to set up a final duel with Nigeria.Nigeria sailed to the finals after a 2-1 defeat of defending champions South Africa.
