The government is committed to eliminating all barriers hindering Kenyans, particularly the youth, from accessing essential identification documents, Principal Secretary for Immigration and Citizen Services Dr. Belio Kipsang has said.

Speaking during a community outreach event at Ainapnget’uny Secondary School in Tinderet Sub-County, Nandi County, Dr. Kipsang stated that access to documents such as National Identity Cards and birth certificates is not only a constitutional right but also a vital enabler for socio-economic participation.

“Access to identification documents is not only a constitutional right but also a critical enabler for young people seeking access to higher education, employment, and government services,” stated Dr. Kipsang.

“We are committed to removing barriers that delay or deny young citizens their rightful documentation.”

The outreach coincided with the school’s annual prayer and thanksgiving ceremony, which gathered students, teachers, parents, and senior government officials. The event served as both a celebration and an opportunity for public engagement regarding citizen services.

The school’s administration welcomed the government delegation and reiterated their commitment to delivering a value-based education that fosters responsible citizens prepared to contribute to national development.

Dr. Kipsang was joined by his colleagues from the State Departments of Social Protection and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development, among other officials.
