Tala has emerged as CNBC World’s Top FinTech firm for the second consecutive.

This recognition underscores Tala’s dedication to innovative, accessible financial services for communities across multiple emerging markets.

“Being named CNBC’s Top FinTech again is a tremendous honor and a powerful validation of our mission, and is proof that serving a population nobody else has dared to serve creates significant impact and financial value,” said Annstella Mumbi General Manager Tala-Kenya.

CNBC and Statista evaluated over 2,000 fintech firms worldwide, applying rigorous scoring that balanced overarching metrics (40%) with segment-specific KPIs (60%) to determine the 250 top-ranked companies.

Since its founding in 2011, Tala has disbursed more than $6 billion in loans, reaching over 11 million customers across East Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

“Winning this award again highlights our continued efforts to promote financial literacy, deliver reliable products, and cultivate strategic partnerships that strengthen local ecosystems,” added Mumbi.

According to the digital lender, its machine learning models are trained on billions of data points from 10 years of customer relationships across multiple geographies, providing deep and proprietary insights on a population that is largely underserved.

Tala says its 95pc repayment rate proves that serving underserved populations at scale is both socially impactful and financially sustainable.
