Local firms are set to gain critical manufacturing insights to help them expand their production and enhance efficiency during the 8th Kenya International Industrial Expo slated for next month.
The expo which has been organized by the Afripeak Expo Kenya in partnership with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and the Kenya Investment Authority is expected to feature at least 200 international exhibitors, primarily from China, and attract more than 6,000 business visitors and trade delegates.
“The Kenya International Industrial Expo is more than an exhibition, it’s a platform for innovation, partnership, and industrial transformation. This year, we expect greater engagement as global exhibitors bring tailored solutions to meet Africa’s evolving industrial needs” said Gao Wei, Managing Director of Afripeak Expo Kenya.
According to the organizers, the three-day event will help bolster Kenya’s industrial growth by connecting local enterprises with global manufacturers, suppliers, investors, and innovators across key sectors among others, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, machinery, energy and green technologies.
KNCCI President Dr. Erick Rutto said the event comes at a time the country is targeting to expand its industrial capacity in order to drives job creation, enhances productivity, and fosters innovation
“Manufacturing today contributes just 7.6pc% to our GDP – far below the target of 15pc. But the opportunity before us is immense. Research shows that a 1pc increase in manufacturing output generates at least 200,000 jobs directly and indirectly across value chains. This is how we can empower our youth, uplift SMEs, and secure our economic future,” added Rutto.
