The Grande Stade, Ibn Batouta stadium in Tangier City in Morocco, is undergoing major renovations to host both African Cup of Nations finals in 2025 as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2030.
The current renovations which are ongoing will see the expansion of the stadium to an 80,000-seater capacity from the previous 75,000.
According to the contractor, the renovations will be complete by the end of this month in readiness for AFCON 2025 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with its Mediterranean neighbours Spain and Portugal.
Refurbishment of the stadium underway includes renovations for both locker rooms and stands and improvement of access routes and security, among others.

Upon completion of the upgrading, the venue will host football matches, international concerts and cultural festivals and other international forums.
For the AFCON 2025.
The venue will play host to six AFCON matches starting with Group D fixtures pitting Senegal against DRC, the Zebras of Botswana and Benin.

Other fixtures allocated the stadium include 1 round of 16, 1 quarter-final and 1 semi-final.
