Police in Kinoo, Kiambu County, have rescued a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer who had been abducted by suspected robbers.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers on patrol responded swiftly to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the early hours of October 6, 2025.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the occupants attempted to flee, prompting a brief chase that led to the arrest of two suspects.

Officers discovered a man tied up and blindfolded in the boot of the vehicle, who was later identified as a KWS officer travelling to Nairobi.

“A man who had been tied up and blindfolded in the vehicle’s boot was rescued and was later identified as a KWS officer travelling to Nairobi. He reported that money had been taken from his mobile wallet and that the suspects had been robbing passengers along the route,” said the NPS.

Several stolen mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.

Police said investigations are ongoing and that efforts to track down additional suspects who escaped are underway.
