State Honours: Ruto awards over 800 Kenyans, including AG and CSs

The awards recognise distinguished and outstanding service rendered to the nation across various capacities and responsibilities (PCS)

President William Ruto has conferred awards, decorations and medals to over 879 distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding service to the nation.

Among those conferred with the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya, Second Class, Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.) were Attorney-General Dorcas Oduor, Cabinet Secretaries William Kabogo Gitau (Information, Communications and the Digital Economy), Lee Kinyanjui (Trade and Industry), and Deborah Barasa (Environment, Climate Change and Forestry).

Others were Dr Pratt Kristina Kenyatta and Narok Governor Patrick ole Ntutu, musician Lyani, sportsmen and women as well as uniformed officers.

They were feted in different categories among them the elder of the golden heart, chief of the order of the burning spear and order of the grand warrior at a grand ceremony held at State House, on Jamhuri day.

The country’s highest honours, the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya, went to nine individuals.

President Ruto also posthumously honoured the three officers who passed on while in the MSS mission in Haiti with the Silver Star Medals.

The awards recognise distinguished and outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities.
