President William Ruto, on Saturday, continued his two-day development tour in Murang’a County, emphasising his government’s commitment to transforming the country.
Speaking at the launch of Ciumbu Modern Market, Maragua, Muranga County, President Ruto noted that the government will continue constructing modern markets across the country to provide decent working conditions.
Upon completion, it will accommodate more than 200 traders.
In Murang’a, he said 25 modern markets were under construction at a cost of Ksh 2.5 billion.
“Nationally, 600 markets are underway, fulfilling our commitment to provide Mama Mboga and other traders with decent places of work”, he said.
He further noted that the government has invested Ksh1.1 billion in this year’s budget allocation for the construction of an additional 14,000 houses under the affordable houses in the County.
