It is a sigh of relief after the FIA World Rally Championship extended Kenya’s Safari Rally leg in the 2027 competition calendar.
The WRC Safari Rally was reinstated in the FIA competition series in 2020 for a five-year period between 2021 and 2026.
There was uncertainty regarding the possibility of its extension, but the Safari Rally is here to stay after the Kenyan leg was included in the 2027 calendar as the third round of the 15-series lucrative championship.
The 2027 WRC rally calendar will open with the Rally Monte Carlo in Monaco between January 21 and 24, followed by Rally Sweden from February 18 to 21, before the action shifts to the Kenyan leg from March 18 to 21.
Next year’s championship will include Rally USA and Rally Scotland, which have been included in the series.
