Agnes Kalekye is the first female KBC boss

The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, Eliud has appointed Agnes Kalekye Nguna as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

The appointment of Kalekye which is effective immediately, will run for a period of three years.

KBC had shortlisted eight candidates for the position of managing director. The Corporation had advertised the role on February 13, 2024.

Prior to her appointment, Nguna was Chief Operating Officer at The Star Publications and also Chair of the Media Owners Association.

The official announcement was made by the Cabinet Secretary through the Chairman of the Board of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.
