APS Bomet FC can officially dream of playing in the top tier FKF Premier League in the 2025/2026 season for the 1st time in their history after securing the 2nd position in the National Super League .

APS are guaranteed 2nd position in the NSL log with 64 points from 33 matches ,four adrift of the 1st placed Nairobi United .

Their promotion to Premier League has been confirmed officially on Friday 13th June after they were awarded 3 points and a 2-0 win over their aborted match against Kibera Black Stars on 1st june at the Jamhuri Sports Grounds.

The FKFPL league Competitions committee in its ruling on Friday awarded APS a win and found Kibera culpable for stopping the match abruptly in the 79th minute when the Bomet side had scored a leading goal.

The Leagues & Competitions Committee, in its meeting held at the FKF Goal Project Kasarani on 13th June 2025, made the following findings;

1. THAT the match was halted in the 79th minute following a ‘disputed’ goal that was scored by APS Bomet FC.

2. THAT Kibera Black Stars FC fans and officials, in protest of the decision to award the goal, accosted and attacked the Assistant Referee, Eunice Njeri.

3. THAT during the entire incidence that lasted for more than 30 minutes, there was no presence of police officers, highlighting the inadequate security measures put in place
by the host club to protect the match officials.

4. THAT with the Assistant Referee unable to proceed with the match, and with the safety and security of the match officials already compromised, the match was eventually called off.

The team was relegated to division one by FKF in 2023 after failing to honour their NSL matches.

APS Bomet has been promoted just a season after winning division 1 zone B to return to the NSL.

The Bomet based team were crowned champions of the NSL in 2021/2022 season but their promotion was nullified following the disbandment of FKF.

APS joins NSL champions Nairobi United for the two automatic promotion slots in next season’s FKF PL while the 3rd placed team will have to go through a two legged play off against the 16th placed team in the
top tier league at the of this season for a chance to earn promotion.
