The inaugural Great Walk by Enda, held at Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary (Miotoni Block, Section 1), attracted over 140 participants, highlighting women’s strength, resilience, and community empowerment.

Led by Enda Sportswear and honouring the Great Catherine Ndereba, one of Kenya’s most decorated athletes and now an Enda Ambassador, the event was a powerful reminder of the role women play in shaping the future of sports.

Participants from all walks of life, including fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes, and members of the community, came together to walk in solidarity under the theme “Honouring Women’s Strength & Spirit.”

The event started promptly at 8:30 AM, with Catherine Ndereba at the forefront, joined by fellow former athlete and fellow Enda Ambassador Henry Wanyoike. Their presence inspired many, reinforcing the message that perseverance and discipline are key to success, not just in sports, but in life.

The marathon legend hinted at a future where The Great Walk evolves into a full-fledged marathon, inspiring even more people to embrace fitness and celebrate Kenyan excellence in sports.

Speaking after the walk, Catherine Ndereba shared her vision for the future, stating: “This was a step towards something greater. A greater dream. The Great Marathon!”

All participants received refreshments, with the first 50 women receiving Enda running shoes, branded T-shirts, and an exclusive meet-and-greet with Catherine Ndereba. The event fostered a sense of unity, wellness, and shared ambition; key values that define Enda’s mission.

“At Enda, we are committed to empowering communities through movement. The success of The Great Walk affirms that together, we can build something truly special,” said Catherine Ndereba.
