The Government has announced the extension of the NYOTA Project Entrepreneurship Aptitude Test deadline from Friday, 24th October 2025, to Saturday, 25th October 2025.

The Principal Secretary, State Department for MSMEs Development, Susan Mang’eni, explained that the extension aims to ensure that every eligible applicant has an equal opportunity to complete the exercise, emphasizing the Government’s commitment to inclusivity and fairness in the ongoing youth empowerment initiative.

She made the announcement while in Moiben Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, where she joined local leaders for the nationwide physical validation exercise currently taking place across all 290 constituency headquarters in the country.

The nationwide physical verification exercise for youth applicants under the NYOTA project that began Friday is a World Bank-funded initiative aimed to transform the lives of vulnerable young Kenyans by creating employment opportunities, enhancing income generation, and promoting savings.

The physical validation exercise, seeks to confirm the authenticity and eligibility of applicants, ensuring that only genuine and qualified youth are selected to benefit.

The process will verify key details such as residency, education level, employment status, gender distribution, and disability, while also confirming that applicants are available to participate fully throughout the project cycle

Under the Business Support Component, 100,000 youth entrepreneurs will receive entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and start-up grants of Ksh 50,000 each to launch and grow their businesses.

Present during the exercise were Prof. Phylis Bartoo, Member of Parliament for Moiben Constituency, officials from the implementing agencies, and officers from the National Government Administration (NGAO).
