A 26-year-old man, Ramadhan Yahya Hussein, has been arrested in Mombasa following an investigation into the distribution of illegal content involving minors.

Detectives from the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit (AHTCPU) apprehended Hussein in the Majengo area after receiving a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Authorities allege that Hussein had been using his email account to share and trade prohibited materials online.

Following his arrest, he led investigators to his residence in Likoni Maweni village, where a search resulted in the seizure of two mobile phones, a memory card and various identification documents.

The recovered items are undergoing forensic analysis to determine the extent of the suspect’s online activities.

Meanwhile, Hussein remains in police custody as investigations continue.
