A five storey building has collapsed in Uthiru along Naivasha Road in Nairobi County.
The building is opposite International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI).
Ten people with minor injuries have been attended to at the scene by the Red Cross Action Team.
According to a statement, the Nairobi City County emergency response team is at the scene assisting in evacuating residents to safety.
“As of 10:00PM, all the families except four persons have been accounted for.” Read the statement.
Adding that : “There are four missing persons who include a nanny and two children from one household, as well as a 10-year-old girl from another residence.”
The statement says the father of the missing girl has arrived at the scene and informed the responders that the girl was home alone.
As rescue efforts continue the Nairobi City County Government has mobilised specialised equipment to assist.
The cause of the collapse remains unknown.
