National women’s soccer team, Harambee Starlets, is expected to continue with its 100% record as they take on underdogs South Sudan in the ongoing Cecafa Women’s Championship today evening in Dares Salaam.
The Beldine Odemba’s charges, who beat Burundi 3-0, in their opener before easing past defending champions Uganda Crested Cranes 4-0,in their 2nd fixture, will need a win to stand a chance of lifting the trophy against Tanzania when the two sides meet this Saturday.
South Sudan has lost both matches, shipping in 9 goals, and is yet to be on the score sheet.
They opened the tournament with a 4-0 drubbing from Twiga Stars of Tanzania before being walloped by Uganda 5-0 in the 2nd fixture.
The 4pm kickoff Starlets match will be played at the Azam Complex in Chamazi, before Tanzania faces Uganda in the same venue from 7pm.
Harambee Starlets who are preparing for WAFCON qualifier and host Twiga Stars, who are using the tournament as a last build-up for the Women African Cup of Nations in Morocco next month, are both tied on 6 points from their opening two matches.
