Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has named the provisional squad ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Gabon and Gambia.
Kenya is set to face Gambia on March 20th in their group F World Cup qualifier. The match which will be broadcast live on KBC Channel 1 Tv will be played at Allassane Outtara Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Kenya will host Gabon in their fifth match of the qualifiers on 23rd March at Nyayo National Stadium.
Newly appointed McCarthy has a mix of experienced players and promising young talents.
Upcoming and AFC Leopards midfielder Kelly Madada and Andreas Odhiambo earn their first senior call up as well as Australia based midfielder William Lenkupae
“Wednesday will be my first camp with local-based players to assess the quality for the upcoming CHAN and identify potential additions for the World Cup qualifiers against Gambia and Gabon’’, Benni McCarthy stated.
After four rounds Kenya is ranked fourth in group F with five points.Ivory Coast leads the pool with 10 points while Gabon and Burundi are ranked second and third with nine and seven points respectively.
Gambia and Seychelles are placed fifth and sixth with 3 and 0 points respectively.
