HX5 Football club were crowned football champions of the Shell Mechanics Sports and Wellness day after beating Vivo FC 3-0, in the final at the Impala grounds in Nairobi.
Vivo FC dominated the first half but failed to score and were heavily punished in the second half when Mohamed Tafauti, Bernard Ogutu and Antony Kamuna scored for HX5 to win tem the title.
The darts competition attracted 10 skilled players who battled through four demanding rounds featuring two 501 games and two 301 games.

Simon Maina Nderitu proved to be the star performer, delivering a masterclass that won him the title on 78 points.
Emmanuel Baraza finished second just ahead of Beckham Ashihuma.
The 8-ball pool tournament drew 14 participants with John Mbugua and Philemon Otiti emerging as joint winners.
Besides the football, darts and pool, Ultra, HX7, HX5, and HX3—competed in innovative obstacle races featuring potato races, tyre races, Shell products staking, water sponge challenges, and sack races.
Vivo Energy Kenya Lubricants’ Sales and Marketing Manager, Stephen Gikonyo, lauded the teams that participated in the inaugural event, adding that the company is committed to fostering lasting value with mechanics.

Beyond sports, the inaugural event featured free health screenings, wellness activities, and family-friendly entertainment, designed to offer mechanics and their families an unforgettable experience. Health professionals conducted screenings while interactive sessions promoted holistic wellbeing.
