Kenya to feature in Four-Nations tourney ahead of CHAN 2024

Harambee Stars will take part in a CECAFA four nations Cup slated from the 24th to 27th of this month at  Karatu stadium,Tanzania .

The tournament will be used by Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Sudan to prepare for the upcoming African Nations Championship which will be co-hosted by the three East African countries next month.

Harambee stars will face Tanzania while Uganda will play Sudan to determine who progresses to the finals.

Meanwhile, Harambee stars head coach Benni McCarthy has named his 30-man provisional squad for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN, with the squad drawn from the FKF Premier League.

Spearheading the attack are the league’s top scorers Moses Shuma of Kakamega Homeboyz, Emmanuel Osoro of FC Talanta, Ryan Ogam of Tusker, with Kenya Police FC’s Mohammed Bajaber expected to bring his creative edge to the squad with Sofapaka’s Edward Omondi also in the line-up.

Midfielder Keith Imbali of Shabana will be featuring for the Kenya national soccer team for the first time alongside the Ulinzi Stars duo of Yakeen Muteheli and Staphod Odhiambo.

Faruk Shikhalo of Bandari will man the posts with Sebastian Wekesa of Kariobangi Sharks and Brian Opondo of Tusker FC.

The others include Mainzur Suleiman of KCB, Alphonce Omija of Gor Mahia and Lewis Bandi of AFC Leopards.

The team is scheduled to go to camp next week on Thursday and will kick off their campaign against DR Congo on the 3rd of August at the Kasarani Stadium, before taking on Angola, Morocco, and Zambia in Group A.
