Detectives from the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit (AHTCPU) Mombasa have arrested a suspect for defiling a minor.
According to detectives, the suspect posed as a Good Samaritan, offering the 12-year-old a ride under the guise of kindness and later subjected her to unspeakable violations.
“Another man noticed her confused, distressed, and utterly helpless. But instead of offering true refuge, he seized the opportunity to exploit her fragile state. He took her to his house and indecently assaulted her, deepening the trauma she had already endured,” the detectives said.
The suspect later escorted her to the police station, pretending to report the first child predator only for the girl to bravely disclose that he, too, had violated her.
The suspect was immediately arrested on the spot and arraigned before the Shanzu Law Courts.
Detecetives said that a manhunt for the first suspect has been launched.
Elsewhere, a man facing charges of malicious damage to property was arraigned at the Makadara law courts Monday morning.
Fredrick Odhiambo alias Agunyo is accused of destroying property worth close to Ksh 1 million in Obama Estate off Kangundo Road early this year.
