Five-time African women club champions Kenya Pipeline(KPC), were too strong for the debutants DCI as they romped to a 3-0, victory at the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League Playoffs, which served off on Friday at the Kasarani Indoor Gymnasium.

KPC thrashed DCI by three straight sets, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-14, in the women’s playoffs first leg on Friday, as they inched closer to reclaiming the title they lost last year to Kenya Commercial Bank.

KPC will lift the trophy should they win the return leg of the final on Saturday, but if DCI wins tomorrow, the two sides will have to be separated on Sunday in a third encounter.

DCI shocked former champions Kenya Prisons, knocking them out in the semi-finals in April as KPC overcame outgoing champions KCB to set up this final encounter.

The General Service Unit (GSU),demonstrated their intentions of reclaiming their title as they thrashed Kenya Ports Authority(KPA) 3-0 (2515, 2522, 30-28).

GSU would become champions for the 16th time in history and the first title  since 2022, with a second victory over KPA tomorrow ; but, if KPA recovers and wins on Saturday, the match would be decided in a third meeting on Sunday.
