Labour and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime yesterday night received the Financial Excellence Reporting Award during the FiRe Awards ceremony held at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
The PS proudly accepted the award on behalf of the State Department, which was recognised for excellence in financial reporting under the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) among MDAs.
“This award reaffirms our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent use of public resources,” PS Mwadime said.
He added that the recognition reflects the hard work of the entire team at the State Department for Labour and Skills Development: “We will continue strengthening our financial systems to ensure every shilling is accounted for and used to improve the lives of Kenyan workers.”
The FiRe Awards also spotlight strong governance and environmental reporting among public and private institutions across East Africa.
The event was graced by Hon. Kimani Kuria, Chair of the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Finance, and the Controller of Budget, Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o.
