The government has underscored the role faith based health facilities play in delivering compassionate, people-centered care across Kenya.

Speaking at the 110th anniversary celebration of AIC Kijabe Hospital on Wednesday, Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, urged young professionals across the country to pursue their careers with dedication and purpose.

“If you love your work, apply discipline, and commit to excellence, there is no limit to where you can serve,” he urged.

The visit held personal significance for Dr. Oluga, who began his medical career at Kijabe.

The PS took a moment to connect with intern doctors, posing for a photo with them as a gesture of encouragement and inspiration.

“Kijabe Hospital holds a special place in Dr. Oluga’s personal and professional journey, it is where he began his career in medicine.” He remarked.

The visit came at a critical time as the government deepens collaboration with faith-based organisations to strengthen the delivery of healthcare services across the country.

A week earlier, the AIC Archbishop had affirmed at State House that the Social Health Authority (SHA) is operational making Dr. Oluga’s visit a timely reaffirmation of the Ministry’s commitment to supporting health financing mechanisms that keep facilities like Kijabe sustainable and able to offer specialised care such as oncology and orthopaedics.
