It is with the deepest sorrow that the Labour Party of Kenya joins the ODM fraternity and the people of Kenya to mourn the loss of a true visionary leader, the greatest Political Reformist of our generation and a true son of the soil; the late former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga.
His unwavering dedication to public service and profound impact on our nation will be remembered for many generations to come. We join the people of Kenya, to celebrate the life of one of Africa’s iconic and unique leaders who gallantly fought for Kenya’s second liberation. Today Kenya enjoys a robust and progressive democratic space due to the late Rt. Hon. PM. Raila Amolo Odinga’s relentless efforts towards political, economic and social reforms.
Kenya, the African continent and the world have lost a statesman whose wisdom, integrity, and compassion guided us through many challenges. He was an illustrious leader whose resolute determination to deliver a just, equitable and prosperous Kenya for all, touched countless lives. His life is a testament to true service, unwavering sacrifice and relentless selflessness, which will continue to inspire us all.
Words cannot express the sense of loss we feel. We will forever be grateful for his bold and courageous leadership and the indelible mark he has left on Kenya’s political landscape.
As the Labour Party of Kenya, we extend a collective hand of comfort to Mama Ida Odinga and Family, The ODM Party and all Kenyans on this irreplaceable loss of one of its true sons.
It is now up to us as leaders, citizens, and the African Continent to continue from where the late former, Rt. Hon. PM. Raila Amolo Odinga has left off, for his legacy to live on. He will be remembered for what he stood for, we must continue to uphold the ideologies he fought for and worked for so gallantly by uniting and putting Kenya first.
