President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to embrace unity and reject divisive politics, saying it is the only path to equitable development across the country.
Speaking at the Eastern Kenya Integrated College in Mitaboni, Machakos County, where he attended a church service and laid the foundation stone for the institution’s new laboratories, the President said his administration has stabilised the economy and set Kenya on a new trajectory of growth.
“We have managed to consolidate and stabilise our economy that was at the risk of collapsing. Now we are on the path to transforming every part of Kenya, including Ukambani, which for too long has suffered marginalisation due to politics,” he said.
Ruto added that the region, like the rest of the country, will benefit from government programmes in healthcare, education, and affordable housing.
He dismissed leaders opposing development projects, stressing that no part of Kenya should be left behind.
“We have for far too long made peace with mediocrity and the average. We must now graduate and think about the great and the excellent and that is where Kenya belongs,” he stated.
The President emphasised that his government serves all Kenyans regardless of how they voted in the last election.
“The government I lead belongs to all Kenyans. I was elected as President of the Republic of Kenya, for those who voted for me and those who did not,” he said.
