An inter-agency communication strategy meeting bringing together institutions within the Criminal Justice System is ongoing in Mombasa County.
The meeting with various heads of communication is aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and streamlining communication approaches in the sector.
Participating institutions included the National Police Service Commission, the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, National Police Service, Kenya Police Service, Administration Police Service, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Internal Affairs Unit, Witness Protection Unit, Independent Policing Oversight Authority and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
According to NPSC, the sessions entailed a comprehensive review of deliberations from previous retreats with detailed discussions on the impact of key topical issues.
The forum also provided an opportunity for the Heads of Communication to disclose operational challenges in the execution of their mandates and collectively deliberate on sustainable and practical solutions.
The meeting was sponsored by the International Justice Mission (IJM), a key stakeholder committed to enhancing accountability and effectiveness in the Criminal Justice System.
