Three nabbed in Migori, Busia for engaging in criminal activities

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a 26-year-old suspected drug trafficker in Migori and two others in Busia for engaging  in criminal activities.

In Migori, one suspect, identified as Bernard Kungu was arrested with 152 rolls of bhang following intelligence gathered by detectives from Migori Police Station.

“Responding to reports of a suspicious character trying to board a bus to Mombasa at the Tahmeed booking office in Migori, officers rushed to the scene,” read the police statement.

Upon interrogation, the suspect identified claimed he was transporting the illegal consignment to Mombasa County.

Kungu is now under police custody pending his arraignment. Meanwhile, the recovered narcotics are being detained as exhibits.

Their counterparts from Busia on Monday arrested two suspects behind a string of violent robberies in Busia town. A Tokarev pistol loaded with eight rounds of ammunition were recovered from the duo.

Acting on intelligence, the team of detectives apprehended the two suspects; Boniface Nyongesa Masakari and Denis Obelo Ekisa, who were smoked out of their hideout in Malaba township.

A Tokarev pistol loaded with eight rounds of 7.62 x 25mm ammunition were recovered by the sleuths from Boniface Nyongesa’s residence.

The duo is now in custody, undergoing processing as they await arraignment.
