Spotify will host its first live podcast recording event in Nairobi on September 6, 2025, featuring three popular local podcasts as the streaming platform expands its presence in Kenya’s growing digital audio market.

The event at Shamba Café will showcase TMI Podcast, The Sandwich Podcast, and So This Is Love in live recording sessions throughout the day.

TMI Podcast, hosted by Lydia and Murugi Munyi, is scheduled for 10:00 AM, followed by The Sandwich Podcast at 2:00 PM and So This Is Love with Julia Gaitho from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

The announcement comes as Kenya’s podcasting sector experiences significant growth, with local creators building audiences across topics ranging from wellness and finance to relationships and social commentary.

TMI Podcast has established a strong following, particularly among female listeners. The podcast features unfiltered conversations and sharp exchanges between hosts Lydia and Murugi Munyi.

The Sandwich Podcast is characterised by its easy-going vibe, quick-fire wit and hilarious takes on everyday Kenyan life, with hosts known for playful banter and running inside jokes.

So This Is Love, hosted by Julia Gaitho, is known for vivid, narrative style storytelling on the highs and lows of love and takes audiences on an emotional journey, from the euphoric to the bittersweet.

For Spotify, which reported 626 million users globally, including 246 million premium subscribers across more than 180 markets, the Nairobi event represents part of ongoing efforts to develop local content relationships in emerging markets. The platform currently hosts over 6 million podcasts worldwide.
